According to the CIMAS website, the medical aid society has been Zimbabwe’s market leader for the past 75 years.
In the year 2022, the medical aid giant engaged Central Procurement Consultants (CPC) to provide a tailor-made training workshop for their procurement workforce. The principal target being to improve the society’s overall service delivery, minimise and curb stock outages through forecasting and negotiating skills.
Supply chain forecasting combines data from the past supply with insights about demand, to help make the best decisions for the set business regarding stock holding, shipping & logistics and budget planning. While excellent negotiation skills go beyond influencing the outcome of individual transactions but cements and nurtures good relationships with suppliers. When negotiating with suppliers, more is at stake than just price. Knowing the other variables like delivery time, payment terms, warranties and ease of reordering is of paramount importance. Such topics among many other include the modules availed for the trainees in the course.
In a nutshell it makes CPC a pragmatic training firm in tackling day to day supply chain challenges while laying solutions drawn from industry experience and in the long run promoting Value for Money procurement.
